British Guiana

Sir.—Not many of your readers know the full story of American interference in British Guiana. Not content with interfering in the affairs of Vietnam and China, they are pouring money into British Guiana in an attempt to influence the opponents of Dr. Jagan, who heads a properly elected Government. Further, the large oil companies will not deliver their products, aircraft will not land there, and sugar is rotting on the wharves. The so-called trades union strike is being subsidized by the United States in an attempt to smash anything that looks like another Cuba. To top it all, the British send more troops to help the strikers. All fair-minded people will be aghast at such happenings.—Yours, etc., p J A. July 7. 1963.
