WALLABY HURT
Lumbar To Be Drained
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copgripht) JOHANNESBURG, July 7. The Wallaby forward, P. Crittle, will have an operation in Johannesburg In the next few days. Crittle was injured after only three minutes in the Wallabies’ second game of the tour at Burgersdorp on June 18. He will see a surgeon about the operation tomorrow.
The operation will drain fluid from an effusion in Crime's lumbar region. Crittle tore fibres in his lower back when an opposing player crashed him as he scored a try. It now may be two to three weeks before Crittle, known in South Africa as the “Three Minute" Wallaby, will be able to play again. The Wallabies have missed his vigorous play and his absence has thrown a greater strain on some of the other experienced forwards.
