8 Applicants For Job Eight applicants were listed for appointment as medical superintendent-in-chief to the North Canterbury Hospital Board when the extended period for applications closed at 9 a.m. yesterday. Eleven applications were received before the original closing date, but some applicants withdrew while the appointment committee was still at work, and the board decided to extend the date. Four of the original applicants have withdrawn, and one was killed in an air accident; two new applications have been received, both from within New Zealand. The standing applications comprise six from New Zealand and two from overseas.
