FAREWELL TO EMPLOYEES
Long Service In Stock Firms
Four members of the staff of Dalgety and New Zealand Loan Company, Ltd., with a total of 136 i years’ service were bidden farewell on Tuesday evening by 160 staff members. They were the Christchurch deputymanager. Mr R. H. Cranfleld (43 years’ service), a member of the merchandise staff. Mr W. L. Partridge (45J years), a member of the clerical staff, Mr W. H. V. Deeming (40 years), and Mr F. Cassidy of the oil and machinery department (eight years). Among those present were the New Zealand general manager of the company, Mr L. A. Sisam, the deputy general manager, Mr M. G. Laird, and the assistant general manager, Mr R. H. Stewart. The Christchurch manager, Mr B. de C. Thomson, was also present. Mr Cranfield was presented with a wing-chair and a binocular; Mr Partridge with a chfque; Mr Leeming with a fireside chair and an electric heater; and Mr Cassidy with a tea-set, glasses, and decanter.
Mr Cranfield joined the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company in 1920 at Methven. came to Christchurch in 1927 and was appointed Christchurch manager of the company in 1946. When Dalgety and Company Ltd., merged with the company in 1962. Mr Cranfield was appointed deputy manager. Mr Partridge started with Dalgety’s in Wellington in 1917 and transferred to Christchurch in .920 Mr Leeming joined Dalgety’s in Christchurch. ;
