WELLINGTON, June 14
Twenty-four thoroughbred horses worth £123.154 were exported to the United States. Last year, according to last month's “Export News.” In 1961, 11 horses valued at £21,691 were imported by the United States from NewZealand.
"The visit this year of United States buyers to the yearling sales at Trentham should result in a better understanding among United States owners and breeders of the high-calibre stock available from New Zealand.” the journal said.
The annual visits made te New Zealand by one of tlie principals of Yonkers Raceway, Inc., had also helped considerably in focusing attention on New Zealand and its racehorses.
