Double Take had only moderate success in his racing for the American film star Gregory Peck, but is a bargain for his present owner, Mrs D. Murphy, of Melbourne. When he was in Australia to star in the film “On the Beach,’’ Mr Peck bought Double Take for 3000gns, but the Wilkes gelding won only three moderate races. On Saturday, the four-year-old won the Royal Handicap, six furlongs, at Flemington. The runner-up was Navarro’s half-brother. Beautiful Star (by Castle Donnington).
