Surrey Learned It Was No Mistake

LONDON. June 9. Sunrey, put in to bat on a nea2"-perfect wicket at Swansea on Saturday, thought the Glamorganshire captain, A. Wheatley, had made a bad mistake in a county cricket match. But Wheatley knew what he was doing and had Surrey all out for 79 inside 98 minutes. J. Jones took six Surrey wickets for 38—the best figures of his first-class career. Glamorgan, by stumps, had 210 for six on the board. J. Dyson, of Lancashire, batting against Hampshire, was hit on the arm by a ball and an X-ray later showed a fractured bone in his left forearm.
Dyson is the second Lancashire batsman to break an arm this season. Last month J. Bond broke his arm in a game against the West Indies. At Oxford: Oxford University 209 and 157 (E. Fillary 62). beat Warwickshire. 123 and 221 (P.
Amiss 40. Ibadulla 40, E. Fillary five for 79), by 22 runs. At Cambridge: Sussex 111 and 359 (K. Suttle 83. P. Ledden 66 not out), drew with Cambridge University, 326 and 58 for two.
