A. B. MAGEE WINS CROSS-COUNTRY
Fast Time Over Heavy Course

The Olympic marathon runner, A. B. Magee, of Auckland, won the New Zealand Methodist 61-mlle cross-country championship on Saturday. Over a gruelling course, ankle deep in mud at places, Magee burst away from the strong field to win in 36min 37.55ec. R Daubey (Wellington) was 100 yards behind in second place, and C Henty (Wellington) was third.
The junior race, with 22 runners. was won in the fast time of 17mln Msec by W. Thawley (Wellington). I. Wells (Nelson) was second, and R. Stringer (Christchurch) third.
