PHILLIPS IN FINE FORM

16 Points In 28-2 Win

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) GRAFTON, June 2. The Kiwi full-back, G. R. Phillips, scored 16 points from two tries and five goals today as New Zealand coasted to a 28-2 win over New South Wales North Coast. It was the tourists’ sixth victory tn succession, and Phillips has now totalled 42 points in four games. The New Zealanders used the match as little more than a training run, and consequently they did not look too impressive against the mediocre standard of the North Coast team. It was not a good match, and once again the New Zealanders had trouble with the scrums and with penalties for offside. During the match the referee awarded 22 penalties against New Zealand, and eight against North Coast. , ~ The Kiwis led 13-0 at halftime after clearly establishing their superiority in this half. The scorers for New Zealand were: Phillips (2), M. L. Cooke, J H Fisher, J. E. Sparnon, R. K. Griffiths (tries). Phillips five goals.
