Light Snow At
Gebbie’s Pass
A grey sky after a heavy frost made yesterday a wintry dav in Christchurch
Light snow fell at Gebbie’s Pass, and frosts of 11 degrees at Harewood and 10 degrees at the Botanic Gardens were recorded
Falling from 36 degrees at 7 p.m on Saturday, the air temperature was 30 degrees a’ 8 a.m yesterday It rose steadily from 9 a m to a maximum of 48 degrees at 3 p.m
Frosts were widespread in the South Island, with the heaviest, of 14 degrees, recorded at Lake Coleridge and Ashburton Timaru, Fairlie. Invercargill and Duned ; n had frosts 10 degrees Frosts of nine degrees were recorded at Alexandra and Hokitika, and ct seven degrees at Blenheim A frost of five degrees at Milford was considered unusual.
The same might be in store fot this morning, the Weather Office at Harewood forecast last evening.
