New Chinese Ambassador

Mr Daniel Yu-tang Lew has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of China to New Zealand with residence in Wellington. The former Ambassador. Dr Chen Chih-mai was accredited as Ambassador to both Australia and New Zealand and resided in Canberra Dr Lew first arrived in New Zealand in 1958 to take up his position as ConsulGeneral and when the status of the Chinese mission in Wellington was raised to an Embassy in 1961 he was appointed Minister Counsellor and Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy
