Chance For Enrich On Monday
Enrich, the winner of the Cheviot Cup and a dead-heat for first at Washdyke at two of his last three starts, should extend his record in the Ashburton County Handicap on Monday. This is the main event and first leg of the double on the second day of the Ashburton Trotting Club’s winter meeting.
Vanderfard bad a hard race when second to Procella in the Durbar Handicap yesterday, but if that has taken no serious toll, he should a'gain take beating. Loyal Brigade and Stand In will again be bracketed with Vanderford, Stand In appealing most after a bold run yesterday. Bay Prince finished fifth over two miles yesterday and appeals much more over half a mite less in this race. Estimation, Young Betty and King Clovis appeal most of the others on the front, while Bonnieburn. Parados and Oheta should do best of those behind the limit. Automatic and Mars should dispute the finish to the Aoton Handicap, the second ,leg of the double, in which "Shoal Haven, Dieman Lad and Scotsbum should also show to advantage. Unless there is heavy rain, the track should again be in splendid order. Acceptances:— 11 a.m.— LONGBEACH HANDICAP, £275; trotters; 3:37 class; 12f.— Boxella (14) Countess Ada (1).
