petition will be held there on September 7. Entrance will cost 7s fid which will mean a seat anywhere except in the pavilion and the two stands adjoining it Mr S C Griffith, the M.C.C secretary, has described the occasion as an experiment
"We want to encourage people to watch knock-out cricket It might pay off; it might not We’ve never diarged an admission price as high as 7s fid for a day’s cricket before but this way people will not have to pay extra to get a stand seat" he said.
The M.C.C. is delighted with the reaction to the first round of the cup Mr Griffith said: “There has been a tremendous amount of interest As excitement builds up I
