‘Racing Man Of Year’

AUCKLAND, May 30
The Minister of Internal Affairs (Sir Leon Goto) tonight presented the “racing personality of the year” award to Mr Peter Wolfenden. of Auckland, a 29-year-old drivertrainer, at the annual racing writers' dinner in Auckland. The citation said that foremost among successes in a memorable year was the nursing back to greatness of Cardigan Bay, whirb was severely injured on the eve of the grand final of the InterDominion Championship
at Perth. For the second, successive season, Wolfenden is leading trainer and driver In the North bland. He was second on both national lists, in spite of the greater opportunities for mtn in the South bland, eaid the citation.
