Belfast Workers’ Decision

Between 300 and 400 freezing workers employed at the Belfast works of Thomas Borthwick and Sons (Australasia), Ltd., met at noon yesterday on learning of the death of Mr F. P. Walsh. The workers have decided to stop work at noon today as a mark of respect. They have met the management in an endeavour to ensure that the loss of production will be as little as possible.

The union branch secretary (Mr F. E. McNulty) said the other branches of the union in Canterbury had been informed of the decision reached at Belfast.
