SEA CADETS’ COURSE

Lieutenant Commander (Sp) A. P. Gurnsey and nine Christchurch sea cadets began an advancement course at H.M.N.ZS. Tamaki, Auckland. yesterday. They were flown there in a Royal New Zealand Air Force DC6. The cadets, aged from 15 to 17, will be trained for promotion to the ranks of leading cadet and petty officer cadet. Their course ends on Thursday. At the same time, five sea cadet officers are on a course at H.M.N.ZS. Philomel, being brought up to uate and receiving instruction on the practical sid6 of running naval ships.
