A sharp drop in the value of the Canadian dollar was the feature of last week’s foreign exchange market. Other changes were small. Altered telegraphic transfer exchange rates, as advised yesterday by the Bank of N.S.W.: N.Z on New York: buying 2.7946 dollars (compared with 2.7950 on May 6); selling 2.7630 dollars (2.7634). Montreal: 3.0107 dollars (3.0077): 2.9722 dollars (2.9693). Belgium: 140.10 francs (same); 137.10 francs (137.00). France: 13.77 francs (13.78); 13 48 francs (same). Netherlands: 10.11 guilders (10.10); 9.89 guilders (9.88). Austria: 72.61 schillings (72.64); 71.06 schillings (71.09). Denmark: 19.42 crowns (19.40). 19 00 crowns (18.99).
