STEEL MILL TOO NOISY

No Work At Night Sought (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 13. Eighty residents affected by noise and fumes from the Pacific steel mill in Favona road. Mangere, unanimously decided at a meeting tonight to ask the Government to restrain the mill from working between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. until it. fulfils promises made in 1959 that the mill would not be noisy. The meeting, which was called by the Favona Ratepayers’ -and Residents’ Association. also decided to call on the Manukau County Council to make greater efforts to have the nuisance from the mill rectified.
