OYSTERMEN GET RISE
Wholesale Price Increase (N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, May 12. Oystermen at Bluff will be given a rise of 2s id a sack to 4s 9d on each sack taken by their boats, according to an authoritative source in Invercargill. Bonuses of 6d a sack to skippers and 3d to engineers are unchanged The new rates will take effect from May 15. According to the source, the increases were agreed uoon yesterday at a meeting of oystermen and merchants at Bluff. It could mean an increase up to 25s to 30s a sack in the wholesale price.
