UNIVERSITY CHANCELLOR

London Trip To Start

The Chancellor of the University of Canterbury (Mr C. H. Perkins) and Mrs Perkins will leave Christchurch tomorrow on the first stage of their journey tp London, where Mr Perkins will attend the congress of the Association of Universities of the British Commonwealth, which will be held in July. Mrs Perkins will attend the meeting of the council of the Federation of University Women in London, shortly after the congress. Mr Perkins will visit provincial British universities, Cambridge, and some universities on toe Continent. On his journey to London, he will visit some Australian universities, and the universities in Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Istanbul. For a few days, Mr and Mrs Perkins will visit the New Zealand Ambassador in Japan (Mr E. B. E Taylor), who was formerly a pro-chancellor of Canterbury University. -On their return journey, they will spend 35 days in the United States, visiting many universities, before arriving back in New Zealand in December.
