A tape recording of the League of Mothers’ welcome to Sir Bernard Fergusson was played to members of the Shirley branch of the league at their annual meeting held recently. Items were given by the branch choir. Mrs I. Cunliffe. the retiring president. presided. Officers elected were: president, Mrs H. Cookson; secretary, Mrs M. Hayward; treasurer, Mrs I. Aldridge; vice-presidents, Mesdames H C. L. Pruden and J. Williams

Specially decorated Mother’s Day Cakes will be available for early shoppers today at Ethnp’s Cake Shop, 125 Cashel street. —Advt.
