Marsden Point Meeting
(NX. Press Association) WHANGAM2. May 8 A stop-work meeting of Marsden Point workers will be held at 7.30 am. tomorrow to inform the men of the result of yesterday’s compulsory conference. The meeting will discuss what action will be taken on union demands for a wage increase and site allowance.
Hedge Fire.—■ About one chain of gorse hedge on the roadside boundary of the farm of Mr J. W. Overton, at 155 HateweU road, was destroyed by fire yeaterday morning. Two unite from the Sockburn and Sydenham fire stations answered the call at 1130 A cigarette thrown by a passer-by is thought to have started the blaze.
