New U.K. Tank Ends Trials

The British Army’s new main battle tank, the Chieftain, has successfully completed its acceptance trials and a production order is likely to be placed shortly says “The Times” defence correspondent. The Chieftain is one of the most important weapons in the Army’s new equipment programme and its development underlines the official view that the battle tank is in no immediate, danger of being made obsolete.
