Paradise Duck Protected

The coming game-shooting season will be a closed one for paradise duck, partridge, and pheasant in the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society's area, the secretary of the society (Mr E. J. C. Hay) said yesterday. Reports showed that the duck was ■definitely on the decline” on the Canterbury plains, while partridge and pheasant had not had time to establish themselves properly, he explained.
