Offered on account of the estate or Mrs M. M. Simpson, a house at 3 Hawthorne street Papanui, was sold for £3300 at public auction. TYie auctioneer was Mr J. Dyer. The opening bid was £2BOO There were four bids of £lOO and two of £5O.
The house, on a section of 24 perches, has three bedrooms, hall, lounge, livingroom, kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry. Outbuildings include a garage and a toolshed. The Government valuation is £3060. and the rates are £34 6s Bd. A block of two acres of light industrial land at 51 Buchanans road, Sockburn, was passed in at £2OOO. The property was offered on account of the Andrew Estates by Mr E. G. Keenan. The land has a frontage of 176 ft 6in to Buchanans road.
