Naming The Coinage
Sir, I wholeheartedly agree with your correspondent’s concept of the sign for pur new decimal unit. What could be simpler than a “Z” sign crossed by two diagonal lines? It could be easily typed on a standard keyboard. With such a simple procedure it would not be worth while going to the expense of fitting special keys to all of the typewriters in the country.—Yours, etc., PLODDER. May 2, 1963.
Sir, —Please correct the misprint in my letter. The rendering “near to the world dollar” should be “near to the word dollar.”—Yours, etc..
