MILLIONAIRE IN NAVY

'Real Living 9 At End Of Term

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BRISBANE. May 2

There’s a millionaire aboard the United States Navy tanker, Manatee, visiting Brisbane. He spends most of the day scrubbing decks and polishing rails. Blain Kammerer, aged 20, said today that six months ago his father gave him 48 per cent, of the shares in the Petri Wines Company, of California, worth 3,000,000 dollars. “Dad just retired and handed over the loot,” he said. “He also threw in a 256acre vineyard which supplies special types of grapes to the company. I get 89 dollars a month from the United States Navy. “I think the Navy’s great, but I wish I hadn’t joined for four years in 1961. “I'm dying to get out of this outfit in 1965. Man. then I might retire and do some real living.”
