FIRST F.O.L. BALLOT

WELLINGTON, May 1
All the members of the national executive were returned to office in the first ballot taken at the annual conference of the Federation of Labour today The vice-president, Mr T E. Skinner, president of the Auckland Trades Council, defeated Mr W. B. Richards, president of the Otago Trades Council, by a substantial margin Mr Skinner polled 280 votes and Mr Richards 56. said the president (Mr F. P Walsh), who was re-elected unopposed. The four sitting members returned are Messrs F. L Fenton (New Zealand Workers), L. A. Hadley (Moulders), J. E N Napier (North Island Waterside Workers), and W F Molineux (Carpenters) Altogether 11 names were in the ballot, the highest of the unsuccessful candidates. Mr W J Knox (Auckland Woollen Workers) being 56 votes behind.
The secretary. Mr K. McL. Baxter, was re-elected unopposed.
