ESCAPE THROUGH THE BERLIN WALL.—Behind the barbed wire is the East German Army armoured car which crashed through the Berlin wall last week. The driver, an East German frontier guard, broke through the first concrete barrier on the eastern side and then got stuck in the wall forming the actual border with West Berlin. Under a hail of Communist fire, he scaled the wall and jumped into the arms of two West Berliners. Two bullets hit him, and he was taken to a West Berlin hospital seriously hurt Two East German Army officers are shown guarding the Russian-made car.
