Colonel Fournier-Foch, aged 51, is commander of the fifth regiment garrisoned at Blois, central France. Police sources said Colonel Fournier-Foch was suspected of being the C.N.R. commander of the whole first military region of France, comprising the Paris area and the neighbouring departments. The sources said the colonel was detained last Thursday nighit at his home irkßlois, and transferred to Paris; where he was still being questioned.

The detention followed the seizure of documents found earlier this month at the time of the arrest of the former lieutenant commander. Jacques Roy. suspected of being in charge of propaganda and psychological action within a powerful anti-Govern-ment Secret Army Organisation (0.A.5.) network in the Paris area.

The sources said that police investigators had identified the name “Ulrich” appearing on several of the documents annotated by Roy, as being a pseudonym of Foumier-Foch
