Requiem Mass For Tamasese

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 17. A Requiem Mass was offered today at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart for the Joint Head of State for Western Samoa, Tapua Tamasese Mea’ole.

The Mass was said by the chaplain to the Samoan community in Auckland, Father L. Schwehr. , The Government was represented by the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), the Minister of Housing (Mr Rae), and the Minister of Health (Mir McKay). Mr Nash represented the Opposition. Others present included heads of foreign missions in New Zealand and senior officers of the External Affairs Department as well as a number of Samoans living here.
