SUPPLY OF OYSTERS
Shortage In Taranaki (NX Preu Association) NEW PLYM., April 16. Taranaki fish retailers plan to investigate whether they are receiving their full quota of oysters. Most retailers at New Plymouth are receiving only about two-thirds of their requirements. said the secretary of the Taranaki Fish Retailers’ Association (Mr R. L. Mundell) tonight. ‘There is a definite shortage ” he said Retailers were ordering more but were getting less, he said. Only a few merchants were able to supply the amount ordered. In most cases retailers obtained oysters from three sources but were able to get a full order from one source and about a quarter from the o’her two
Mr Mundell said the association intended to find out whether it was getting its share.
