No Contact With Rebels
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) MANILA, April 16. Major-General Achmad Jani, Indonesian Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, said in Manila today the Indonesian Army had no contact with revolutionary elements in North Borneo.
The 40-year-old general was answering questions at the airport on arrival this morning for a three-day official visit on invitation of the Philippines Government. He said the Indonesian Army fully supported the Indonesian Government’s policy opposing the formation of the Federation of Malaysia. The Indonesian Government and the Army follow the principle of resisting any form of colonialism wherever and whenever it may take form. But the general said that there was still a possibility of solving the problems arising out of Malaysia by peaceful means.
