The New Zealand-bred galloper Havelock got up in the last stride to win the Easter Cup at Flemington this afternoon from Sometime also New Zealand-bred in a photo-finish Havelock’s time of 2:14.5 was the fastest since the cup was switched to 10 furlongs in 1957. The Australian and Flemington record nf J:OA.4 is held by Sky High. Havelock had not won tinee the autumn of 1961. but was second to Stipulate in the Queen’s Plate at Flemington last month. Result:
