Ministers To Attend

To generate public interest in the coming General 'Election and to publicise party ideals, the National Party will hold a rally for the Canterbury - Westland area from April 22 to April 27. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), six Cabinet Ministers and other Parliamentarians will attend functions organised for the rally which will be the first in the area.

On April 22 the rally will begin with addresses to Rotary Clubs and businessmen’s organisations by the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) and Mr L. AdamsSchneider, M.P., and the National Party ball at the Winter Garden, attended by Mr Holyoake. that evening. Next day the Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) will talk to the Christchurch Rotary Club and on April 24 a women’s rally in the Winter Garden will be addressed by the Postmaster-General (Mr Kinsella) and the Dominion president of the party (Mr J. H. Meadowcroft). Questions from the audience will be answered by a panel of four Ministers at a public meeting in the Civic Theatre on Friday, April 26 The Ministers will be Mr Shand and the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent). the Minister of Customs (Mr Shelton), and the Minister of Housing (Mr Rae). Membership drives are planned in various suburbs on Saturday, April 27.
