Two Houses Sold
A tiled-roof bungalow at 5 Kauri street, Riccarton, was sold for £2650 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of the estate of Thomas Washbourne by Mr D. > Chapman. The opening bid was £2OOO. There were four bids of £lOO, and five bids of £5O. The house has a hall, lounge, breakfastroom, two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, and enclosed porch. There is also a garage on the section of 21.8 perches. The Government valuation is £2725. Offered on account of the estate of Clement William Ford, an early-type bungalow at 528 New Brighton road was sold for £620. The auctioneer was Mr R. G. Bell The opening bid was £5OO. There were two bids of £5O and tv to bids of £lO. Ihe house, on a section of 25.7 perches, has two bedrooms. lounge, and kitchen. It needs repairs.
The Government valuation is £875.
Cattle From Chathams.— The Holmburn arrived at Lyttelton yesterday from the Chathams with 210 head of cattle.
