ELECTION OF COUNCIL
Earlier Nominations Remit Supported
Two remits from local clubs for consideration at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association were discussed by the delegates at the meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Centre. The Opawa club submitted a remit suggesting that the closing of nominations for councillors of the association be brought forward one month.
Mr F. W. Larcombe said clubs would be able to consider the nominees and direct their delegates to vote. The remit was carried and will now go forward to the association's annual meeting The Burwood club's remit was that delegates to the centre be elected at either the genera! meeting of the club or by postal ballot. At present delegates must be elected at the general meeting. After a short discussion the remit was defeat'd. 24-23. Delegates were advised that proof copies of the revised ‘Laws of the Game" had now come to hand. After being perused by centres and umpires’ associations they would be submitted to the annua] meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association for adoption.
