RUATO MAY NOT RUN IN CUP

He has raced only once in Auttralia, but is third favourite to The Dip and Maidenhead in the Cup, which will be run next Monday. Today, the trainer, T. J. Smith, said Ruato’* traekwork had not been Kim. I “But I keep hoping he might be a loafer which reserve* hi* bett efforts tor race*,” Smith said. He has not won a race for more than two year*, but tomorrow he will be contesting one of the moot mediocre weight-for-*ge events staged at Randwick.
The New Zealand-bred pair. Ruato and Burgos, dominate the betting on the Queen Elizabeth Stake*. Ruato is quoted at slight odds on. Burgee is a point and a half longer than Ruato. but the keen followers of Moore could have a big influence on the market The third favourite for the race is the former New Zealand galloper, Kamikaze. Marco Khan is on the next line, but is quoted at fairly long odds, while Sharply and Royal Bark are out of the market.
Kulinga To Miss Riverton

Ku ling a and Fuji Yama are two of E. A. Winsloe’s team, which are likely to miss their Riverton engagements. Kulinga is one of the six stable candidates for the Igmgwood Hack Handicap. There is nothing wrong wiw the Cassock gelding, but he will be reserved for a later day of the meeting. Fuji Yama, top-weight in the second division of the Visitors’ Hack Handicap, was sore after racing at Beaumont on Saturday.
