SKELTON TO BE BUSY

Rides At Two Meetings The Oamaru jockey, W. D. Skelton, will have a busy Easter. Skelton will ride at Riverton on Saturday, then will travel to Christchurch to ride at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting at Riccarton on Monday. At Riverton, Skelton will ride Windvale Lad, one of the favourites in the second leg of the double, the Riverton Cup, and Chattel, which is in the Pourakino Handicap a one-mile event. Skelton wil also ride members of J. Brown’s Wingatui team at Riverton. Brown has more than one runner in both the Longwood and Visitors’ Hack Handicaps and Skelton had not decided last evening which he would ride. At Riccarton Skelton will be on Gold View, William David. Grecian Prince, Juliette, Underwood Lass, and Hornpipe.

He still has no mount in the Courtenay Handicap. R. J. Skelton replaces C. T Wilson as Flying Trix’s rider in the Great Easter Handicap .and Wilson had found no substitute mount in that race yesterday. Local riders going to Riverton for Saturday include D. N. Hadfield. W. H. Beck, G. W. Mein and M. J Skelton. Hadfield will ride Becharre. Happy Birthday. Glen Yon, Sir Anthony and Monalita. Mein will ride Persuasive and John O'Groats. Skelton will be on Wild Delight and Never Late.
