Police Payroll Stolen
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter~Copyright) ZURICH (Switzerland), March 31. Police in Zurich admitted that thieves had got away with an embarrassing haul—the police payroll. The Zurich Public Prosecutor (Mr Adolf Hartmann) told a, news conference that thieves walked into an unlocked police office on Wednesday night and robbed a safe of pay envelopes containing 88,350 Swiss francs. But apparently they did not want to leave the police completely destitute. They left francs, worth about £lOOO, behind. The prosecutor said a key was used to open tile safe. The eye is the window of the soul; the intellect and will are seen in it. —Hiram Powers. ___________
