Canterbury To Lose M. Allen
The South Island and Canterbury prop, M. W. Allen, will not be playing Rugby in Canterbury this year. Allen may be going oversees or to th-> North Island. Hi* departura will be more of a loss
to Canterbury Rugby than to his chib, University, which already haa a targe number of representative forwards in it* team.
Already this year, Canterbyry ha* kxt R. G. Cochrane, R. Abel, K. J. O'Shanneaaey, P. G. Bark and B. R. Mann from its representative pack. A robust and aggressive player, Altai ha* represented Canterbury, New Zealand Univeraitieß, the Junior All Stacks and the South Island and he was regarded a* a strong possibility for th* All Black team to tour Britain in 1903-04.
