RUGBY CLUBS PRACTICE
Clash With Cricket
Rugby clubs continued their preparation at the week-end for the competitions which will start on April 20 with a further serie* of trial* and practice matches. Most senior clubs reported good attendances, particularly in the lower grades. The University Club opened its season with a trial match against Lincoln College and won the senior match, which was pteyed in two spells of 25 minutes, by 12 point* to nil.
Rugby players taking part in cricket matches trekked back and forth from their matches to play in Rugby trials. D. Young in haste to get to the Steiriey Club’* trial* batted violently in a third oede game, rushed off to hi* Rugby game and then returned to the cricket match to begin a lengthy apeU ot bowling.
