29 Picked Up From Lost Coaster
(N 2 J 3 .A .-Reuter—Copyright) PORT MORESBY, March 31. Twenty-nine survivors from the coastal trading vessel, Polurrian, were picked up at sea today off the west coast of Bougainville, marine sources said in Port Moresby today.
The reasons for the loss of ' the Polurrian were unknown, i pending questioning of sur- i vivors. i ■ The 135-foot ship left Sohano on Buka Island, on i Thursday, on a 200-mile trip < to Rabaul but was not heard 1 of again after clearing Sohano. The chief engineer of the Polurrian is a New Zealander, Mr Maurice Farrant, formerly of Oamaru Mr Farrant has been at sea since 1951.
