Parking Meter Thefts

(N Z.PA.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, March 26. A man who allegedly sawed off three parking meters was sentenced to 15 months’ gaol on four charges in the Melbourne City Court yesterday. The Court was told that he took the meters home to make keys to open other parking meters, by which means he had made £2O a night. The man, Heinrich Cordes Saathoff, a baker, between January 26 and March 23, stole £3BO from meters. The Magistrate ordered that he serve a minimum of 12 months before becoming eligible for parole.
