FENDALTON RD. WIDENING

Approval Of Authority The Waimairi County Council’s proposals for the widening of Fendalton road seem satisfactory to the' Christchurch Regional Planning Authority, subject to any requirements which may arise in developing the master transportation plan. At its meeting yesterday, the authority decided to draw the council’s attention to the fact that development work at the railway crossing and intersection with Harper avenue might require additional land in the future. The authority was considering a letter from the council forwarding a plan of the proposed widening of Fendaiton road between Harper avenue and the railway. The council intended taking steps to amend the present widening line of 49ft 6in from the centre line to conform with the plan as soon as the district scheme became operative.
