TAXI DRIVERS’ COLLECTION
Trust Fund For Children
Blue Star Taxis in Christchurch have received a letter of appreciation from Nelson taxi drivers for helping to raise funds for the family of the . murdered Nelson driver, Mr Peter Banham.
The Nelson drivers say that contributors, in Christchurch may be interested to know of plans to administer the fund. The whole amount collected will be held in trust for the ‘‘maintenance, education. and benefit” of the four Banham children. ‘‘Our aim is to assure them of the financial security they could have expected had their father lived,” says the letter. A trustee company is expected to administer the fund without charge. The taxi drivers’ collection in Nelson now exceeds £6OO. The Christchurch total has risen to £76, many contributions being received by mail at the Blue Star Taxis office in Moorhouse avenue. “We want to raise a bumper sum so that the objects of the trust can be fully realised," said the Christchurch committee.
