TAX CUT HINT
Mr Holyoake’s Reply
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, March 5.
The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) hinted in Napier today that there might be a tax reduction this year. Mr Holyoake said that he would be “very disappointed” if a further reduction was not practicable. “It may not be as much as last year,” said the Prime Minister, "and it will not be because this is election year.” He was replying to a question at the annual conference of the Master Builders’ Federation.
