BID TO SAVE “ EXTRAV.”
500 Students Protest (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 25. Victoria University students moved today to oppose the dropping of their traditional “Extravaganza.” Early this evening more than 500 had signed a petition protesting against a decision of the Students' Association executive to replace the usual political satire with a drama club revue this year.
“Extravaganza” supporters are to cal la special meeting to attempt to reverse the decision.
Mr M. Moriarty,, president of the students’ association, said today he thought the experimental change would improve the quality of the entertainment. There were no plans yet for future years.
