DAMAGE TO COASTER
Two Inquiries Begin
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 22. Separate inquiries were opened today into the cause of damage to the new 1000ton coaster, Awanui, which was discovered to have large bulges in the hull platiqg on both sides of the bow while at an Auckland wharf earlier this week.
Inspectors from the Marine Department and Lloyd’s who examined the ship yesterday are bolding an official inquiry and the owners, the Northern Steam Ship Company. Ltd., have begun • private one.
