Facial Eczema Risk High (N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, Feb. 22. Farmers in the Wanganui district, who have already taken precautions against an outbreak of facia] eczema, have been advised not to relax them if present weather conditions continue. The Department of Agriculture’s veterinarian for Wanganui Mr K. E. Hart, said today spore counts taken in several areas were too high for comfort The rapid rise in the counts indicated that the spores could be toxic. “Sheep which have already taken sufficient numbers of spores and absorbed the toxin could be due to develop chemical facial eczema symptoms,” he said.
